‘GreenFriends Garden’은 자연의 언어로 재해석된 서울국제정원박람회 시민 참여형 정원입니다.

에메랄드 씨앗을 상징하는 마름모 패턴 구조를 통해 식물의 확산과 시민의 연결을 표현하였으며, 일상의 행복을 가꾸는 이 작은 씨앗들은 한 사람 한 사람의 소중한 참여를 통해 정원으로 피어납니다. 마름모 형태의 씨앗 모듈은 정원을 구성하는 핵심 단위로서 반복과 확장을 통해 모두가 함께 가꾸고 성장하는 유기적인 정원 경험을 제안합니다.

각 씨앗 모듈은 세 종류의 식물로 구성되어 작은 단위 안에서도 다채로운 생명력을 담고 있습니다. 이러한 기하학적 구조의 반복은 식물 군락의 확산과 시민들의 따뜻한 연결을 시각화하며, 현대백화점과 생명의숲, 시민이 함께 만든 정원이 퍼즐처럼 모여 하나의 큰 정원으로 확장됩니다. ‘GreenFriends Garden’은 박람회를 찾는 이들의 일상에 새로운 영감을 더하고, 도심 속 정원이 지닌 지속가능한 가치를 시민과 함께 나누는 공간입니다.

“GreenFriends Garden” is a citizen-participatory garden reinterpreted through the language of nature for the Seoul International Garden Show.

The diamond-patterned structure, symbolizing emerald seeds, expresses both the spread of plant life and the connection among citizens. These small seeds, which cultivate everyday happiness, bloom into a garden through the meaningful participation of each individual. The diamond-shaped seed modules serve as the core units of the garden, proposing an organic garden experience that grows and expands through repetition and collective care.

Each seed module consists of three types of plants, embodying diverse vitality even within a small unit. The repetition of this geometric structure visualizes the expansion of plant communities and the warm connections among people. Gardens created together by Hyundai Department Store and participating citizens come together like pieces of a puzzle, eventually forming one large, unified garden. “GreenFriends Garden” offers new inspiration to visitors and serves as a space where the sustainable value of urban gardens is shared with the public.
