Call for Participants for ‘Global Garden’ of
Seoul International Garden Show 2026

365일 어딜가든 정원을 만날 수 있는 ‘정원도시 서울’을 꿈꾸며, 서울특별시는 오는 5월 서울숲에서 ‘2026 서울국제정원박람회’를 개최합니다. 서울국제정원박람회의 취지를 살리고 정원문화 확산을 꾀하기 위해, 국내에 체류 중인 외국인과 함께 팀을 구성해 글로벌정원을 조성할 참가자를 모집하오니, 관심 있는 분들의 많은 참여를 바랍니다.

Imagining a ‘Garden City Seoul’, where one encounters gardens anywhere, 365 days a year, Seoul Metropolitan City will host ‘Seoul International Garden Show 2026’ this May at Seoul Forest. To promote the missions of the Seoul International Garden Show and to spread the garden culture, Seoul Metropolitan City is looking for participants for Global Garden construction who will form a team with foreign nationals residing in Korea.

2. 모집 개요 Call for Participants Overview

○ 모 집 명: 2026 서울국제정원박람회 글로벌정원 참가자 모집

○ 참가자격: 한국에 체류 중인 정원을 좋아하는 외국인이라면 누구나 가능
(단, 반드시 한국어나 영어 소통 가능한 자 1명 이상을 포함)

○ 모집규모: 10팀(팀당 최대 5명, 한국어나 영어 소통 가능자 1명 이상 포함)
가족, 친구, 연인, 동호회, 동료, 지인 등 다양한 방식의 팀 구성 가능

○ 조성장소: 서울숲(정원 조성 이후 존치)

○ 조성일시: 2026년 4월 18일(토) 14:00~17:00

○ 내 용: 정원 전문가가 디자인한 ‘글로벌정원’의 식재 구역 10개소를 1팀이 1개소씩 식재하여 정원을 완성하는 식목 행사

○ Title: Call for Participants for ‘Global Garden’ of SIGS 2026

○ Qualifications: Any foreign national residing in Korea who loves gardening
(However, the team should include at least one person who can communicate in either Korean or English)

○ Number of participants: 10 Teams (Maximum 5 members per team, including either a Korean or English Speaker), Team may consist of family, friends, social clubs, colleagues, and/or acquaintances.

○ Venue: Seoul Forest vicinity (constructed garden to permanently remain on-site)

○ Construction Date: Apr. 18th, 2026 (Sat) 14:00~17:00

○ Event Summary: The 10 separate sections of the ‘Global Garden’ designed by experts will be planted/constructed by each team to complete the garden as a whole.

3. 조성 내용 Event Description

○ 개소수: 10개소(식재 구역 10개소)

○ 면 적: 5㎡ 내외(개소당)

○ 참가비: 무료

○ 기념품: 가드닝 앞치마 등 참가 기념품 지급

○ 식목 행사를 위한 모든 준비물은 주최측에서 준비

○ 팀별로 서울시 시민정원사가 멘토를 담당하여, 현장에서 가드닝 교육과 함께 진행되기 때문에 초보자도 참여 가능

○ 10팀이 만든 글로벌정원은 정원 조성 이후 존치

※ 행사 때 촬영한 사진과 영상은 서울국제정원박람회 유튜브, 페이스북, 인스타그램 등에 소개될 수 있고, 행사 후에 제작되는 백서 등 관련 인쇄물에도 사용될 수 있습니다.

○ Number of Sites: 10 (10 Planting Areas)

○ Area: Approx. 5㎡ per site

○ Fee: Free of Charge

○ Official Souvenir: Gardening aprons

○ All materials for the planting event will be provided by the host(s)

○ Seoul’s City Gardener will mentor each team and lead gardening education on-site; hence, the event is open to all, including those with little or no gardening experience.

○ Global Garden constructed by the 10 teams will remain on-site permanently

※ All photographs and videos filmed during the event may be used in the social media platforms owned and run by Seoul International Garden Show, including Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, etc., as well as related print materials such as white papers.
